IBC-International Blockchain Congress

The International Blockchain Congress will be the largest gathering of innovators, businesses, technologists, regulators, startups and enthusiasts in India to-date. The goal of IBC is to pave the way for an open and transparent blockchain powered world. The conference is being co-hosted by NITI Aayog, Government of Telangana, Government of Goa and Nucleus Vision.

Conference attendees include government and policy makers from Idnia and globally, industry and regulatory bodies, financial institutions and hedge funds, corporate and family offices, top VCs and PE firms, technology service providers, top Indian startups, blockchain technology companies and exchanges and global hackathon participants.

Speakers include Mr Amitabh Kant ( CEO, NITI Aayog Government of India)and Mr KT Rama Rao (Minister of IT, Government Of Telangana) in additiona to some of the biggest leaders in blockchain.

IBCHack – IBC Hackathon

Leading up to the International Blockchain Congress, we are also organizing a series of events under the theme Road To IBC. A series of hackathons will be held at prominent colleges across India and the best teams from these hackathons will have an opportunity to participate in IBC Hack - the main hackathon held at the conference venue.

IBC Hack aims to uncover and showcase India's innovative blockchain talent through a 36 hour hackathon . For those from India or globally who cannot attend in person, there will be an International Online Hackathon running through the month of July. At IBC Hack, not only will participants be able to build product prototypes, but they will also be encouraged to present their white papers and showcase their idea to all attendees.

The hackathon is being co-hosted by NITI Aayog, Government of Telangana, Government of Goa, Nucleus Vision and Dunya Labs and implemented by Idealabs and Block91

Guidelines
  • IBC Hack is a Blockchain centric Hackathon which is technology platform agnostic. The participants are free to use any technology platform
  • Participants have a choice to pick one of the challenges listed below or come up with their own usecase.
  • All participants are encouraged to submit a white paper of their work. 
  • For offline Hackathon, Participating teams should have a maximum of four members and minimum of two members with complementary skills to develop and demonstrate their solution
  • The participants should be able to travel to Hyderabad and stay on August 3-4 to develop and demonstrate their solution
  • All participants are expected to show their working prototype
  • The verdict of Jury is final and cannot be challenged
  • The participants who wish to also apply for Online Hackathon can do so with a separate Emaild.
  • The organizers reserve the right to make any additions/amendments in the guidelines without any prior notice.
  •  Intellectual property related to the idea/solution remains with the contestants.

    Register as a new user, by clicking the "Register" button on the top of this page (portal). Registration is mandatory for participating in the program. Once you click on Register, you can choose offline and Online Hackathon.
  • 2.What is online Hackathon ?
    There are two independent Hackathons being organized. One of the two Hackathons is an International online Hackathon open for all participants across the world.
  • 3.What is offline Hackathon ?
    There are two independent Hackathons being organized. One is offline (in-person) for people who want to participate by being present physically on August 3-4 at the Conference venue in Hyderabad, India.
  • 4.Where do I select the choice of Online and Offline Hackathon?
    Once you register yourself, you will have a choice to select online Hackathon.
  • 5.What is the eligibility for participation in Hackathon ?
    You can be a student, freelancer, developer, working professional in a corporate, academician or a startup.
  • 6.What is the team size for participation in online Hackathon ?
    For online Hackathon, the minimum team size is 2 and maximum team size is 3.
  • 7.What is the team size for participation in offline Hackathon?
    For online Hackathon, the minimum team size is 2 and maximum team size is 4.
  • 8.What should be the composition of the the team?
    You are independent to choose the team composition. It can be a combination of student, startups or working professionals. We recommend choose a team with complementary skillset.
  • 9.Can I participate in Both Offline and Online Hackathon?
    You can participate/register for both hackathons but you will need a separate registration with a new emailid.
  • 10.can we submit our solutions for more than one theme ?
    For the sake of this event, we expect you to work on one theme and do full justice to that.
  • 11.Who will own the IP generated as part of Hackathon ?
    The teams will own their own IP, However, you must realize Hackathons are generally open and collaborative platforms.
  • 12.When and where will the winners be declared ?
    At the main event on 4th August
  • 13.Can there be individual participation?
    The minimum and maximum team sizes is already defined above for online and offline Hackathon. You can participate individually for the online Hackathon.
  • 14.Can we submit multiple solutions for one theme ?
    Only one entry is accepted per team
  • 15.Where will the demo event be conducted for online Hackathon?
    The demo for online Hackathon will be through a video uploaded by the participants. The details of the same will be communicated at suitable time.
  • 16.Where will the demo event be conducted for offline Hackathon?
    The demo for the offline Hackathon will be at the venue on August 4th to a panel of Jury.
  • 17.What is white paper ?
    A white paper is a technology paper with clearly enlists the work you have done. A format of the white paper/template will be provided.
  • 18.Will the organizers take care of travel and accommodation for the final offline event ?
    Participants have to take care of their travel /accommodation.
  • 19.Is there any specific platform or technology framework mandatory for this hackathon ?
    Participants can choose their own platform / technology framework to build their solutions.
  • 20. How can a participant change theme ?
    Participants can not change the theme.
